Chapter 2:
From now on the story is narrated by Raman.
There were three turning points in my life which made me what I am today.
I
was a freak, had no aim no motive in life. I was always at the wrong
place be it going to fight clubs, having booze parties , doing races .My
freedom made me bring the wild out of myself. I only had my dad and
Mihir my best friend. We lived in same locality and went to same school
apart from this we had nothing in common. Our friendship started from
class first where I saved him from some classmates who were trying to
bully him. If you know us well you can never think that we can be
friends. But we are the best of best pals. Mihir was very serious in
studies and the opposite was me.It was not that I was not good at
studies but i never took it seriously.
One
day Mihir came to me with a full grin and told me that he got 770 in
GMAT and will easily get admission in a good college in US. While we
were having dinner dad said that he would have been very proud if I to
get the same score in GMAT.I just ignored him as usual. The same night
Mihir asked me if I loved my Dad I was about to say yes obviously I
loved my dad all laughing at him but stopped looking at his serious
gestures. Next he asked me have you ever thought that after your mom
died your dad never remarried just because he did not want a step mother
for you he was worried about you. He gave away all his life just for
your happiness and what have you given him. This life style of your
,this careless attitude of yours .Have you look into his eyes today
when he said I would have been proud if you were at my place.do you want
him to die in agony thinking if your mom would have been alive you
would not be the way you are. Do you want him to believe your life style
is his mistake? Make him feel proud because of you. Give him a
satisfaction that he is not a failure, that you love him. Think about
it. Saying this he left.
The
day I took a pledge to appear for GMAT.I was into books for a month and
took my exam and then what, I got 780 in GMAT.I went to my dad and he
was shocked after hearing what I told and then he cried.
He
hugged me and said now I can now die in peace and tell your mom that
you are his son stubborn but gold at heart. We dint failed in life .It
was the happiest day of my life we spoke about mom and he slept of
saying he was proud of me and that he loves me. That was the first time
my dad told me I love you son.
We
got admission in university of California. We were about to join in
next two weeks. I tried to spend all these days with my dad, we talked a
lot, went for shopping, movies. I just wanted to be with him. I dint
even thought of going back to my life style as if it dint even bothered
me. I started taking life a little seriously.
This was the first turning point of my life!!
